Students at California State University campuses say they are generally pleased with the education they are getting, according to a 16-campus survey. About 72% of the students who completed the surveys said they were “pleased with my overall experience on this campus,” citing the good libraries, high-quality instruction and access to faculty members as their major reasons. This was down slightly from 1981, when in a similar survey 77% of the students said they were satisfied. However, Asian students on Cal State campuses often showed a “strong and pervasive discontent” with many academic programs, a finding that university officials said they were unable to explain.
