EL PASO —
A parking garage under construction in downtown El Paso collapsed today, injuring 13 people when a scaffolding being used by workers pouring concrete gave way, authorities said.
The accident occurred at 9 a.m. on the structure’s third level and sent at least 35 workers tumbling 25 feet, said Bob Brown, the project’s general contractor. He said he believed all the injuries were minor.
