Cal State L.A.’s Prof. Thomas Dies

Dudley Watson Thomas, professor emeritus of biology at California State University, Los Angeles, died Thursday.
A native of Pasadena, Thomas, 65, received his doctorate degree in chemistry at California Institute of Technology after obtaining an undergraduate degree at the University of California, Berkeley.
He was a Navy pilot in World War II whose personal interests included the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Assn., which he served as a docent.
Survivors include his wife, Alice; a daughter, Helen; a son, Peter, and a brother, William.
A funeral service will be held today at 11 a.m. at the Church of Angels in Pasadena. Contributions in his name may be made to the church, to Caltech or the zoo association.
