Fisherman Dies as Boat Capsizes
The 16-foot fishing boat Sea Sport capsized in heavy surf Tuesday near Los Angeles Harbor, leaving one man dead and three others badly shaken.
Two of the fishermen, including the dead man, attempted to swim to safety after their 16-foot boat flipped over about 20 yards from the breakwater, county Lifeguard Lt. Wally Millican said. Two others held onto the boat for nearly 1 1/2 hours before they were rescued.
