A man arrested as a suspect in the shooting death of a Los Angeles firefighter, killed when he interrupted a burglary while off duty, also is suspected of a string of 50 burglaries in the Wilshire area, police said. Isaac Watkins, 20, was booked on suspicion of burglary and murder in the death of Edward Coleman, 30, who was shot when he surprised a burglar who had stolen items from his and a neighbor’s homes. Watkins was captured after a series of burglaries in the area of the firefighter’s home. The suspect’s prints were matched to two sets from inside the firefighter’s home, detectives said.
