Langer Heads Tournament of Champions Golf Field
Masters champion Bernhard Langer will head a field of 28 golfers in the MONY Tournament of Champions at La Costa this week. Qualifiers had to win a tournament in the year since the 1984 TOC.
Others entered include defending champion Tom Watson, Jack Nicklaus, Isuzu/Andy Williams Open champion Woody Blackburn, Fuzzy Zoeller, and Lee Trevino.
The 18-hole Pro-Am begins at 7:30 today. The tournament runs from Thursday through Sunday.
The MONY Seniors Tournament of Champions will be played at the same time. Defending champion Orville Moody, Arnold Palmer, Don January and Lee Elder also are entered.
