The Teaching of ‘Family Subjects’
As a Christian humanist with a thorough education in a solid tradition, it appears to me that the public school system in the Capistrano Unified School District is suffering from the harassment of fanatic fundamentalists.
It seems to me that the religious minority that is making all the fuss over the Family Life Education curriculum doesn’t see the relationship between intelligence and values, the disparity between the advantaged and the underprivileged, nor the cooperation between learning and experience.
Seeing the state of the world, intelligent people can help facilitate learning experiences that give the optimum compendium of choices, possibilities and wholesome orientation for the students in our school systems.
The Family Life curriculum is strictly voluntary, so why does this religious minority have to protest so much?
