Fifteen demonstrators invaded an abortion clinic in Chicago, and two of them handcuffed themselves to bathroom pipes before they were taken away by police and charged with trespassing. Sgt. Paul Ruud said that the protesters entered the Albany Women’s Medical Center by “posing as patients.” Dick Lane, a spokesman for the group that staged the sit-in, said, “With Mother’s Day coming up, we wanted to demonstrate to the world that motherhood is sacred.” All were released on bond.
