Rio Hondo Paper Wins Press Club’s Excellence Award

WHITTIER — El Paisano, the Rio Hondo College newspaper, has received the Pacific Coast Press Club’s Miles Sines Memorial Award for Community College Newspaper Excellence for 1985. The newspaper also won the award in 1983.
El Paisano was also named a First Class newspaper by the Associated Collegiate Press for the fall of 1984. Its editor, Sandra Lunt, recently won a $500 scholarship from Women in Communications, Inc., Los Angeles Professional Chapter.
Rio Hondo will host the State Journalism Assn. of Community Colleges Convention April 19-21 in Fresno.
