San Ysidro

The body of an unidentified man who was apparently beaten to death was discovered by authorities in a remote area two miles east of the San Ysidro port of entry, a police spokesman said.

Authorities were led to the body of the man, who had been dead at least 24 hours, by three Mexican aliens who were stopped in San Ysidro in a routine check by Border Patrol agents, the spokesman said. The witnesses told police that while crossing the border they spotted the body.

The dead man was described as being Latino, about 30 to 40 years old, wearing a blue shirt, brown pants and a brown windbreaker. Coroner’s deputies said it appeared as though the man was robbed and then beaten over the head with a rock.
