City firefighters and Riverside County sheriff’s deputies arrested a 75-year-old woman Monday on suspicion of setting the lawn of her former home afire.

Dale Crickette Pattee, 76, of St. George, Utah, was taken into custody for 72 hours of observation at Riverside General Hospital, said Norco Fire Capt. Ed Braden. When Pattee is released, she will be booked on suspicion of arson, he said.

Pattee is the former owner of property at 5th and Sierra streets in Norco, Braden said, where “she’s been hanging around the last couple of days harassing these people.”

While one of the current residents was calling the sheriff early Monday to complain that Pattee was throwing objects at her house, she saw the elderly woman set fire to the lawn with a disposable cigarette lighter, Braden said.

The resident doused the small fire.
