A Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy showing off his quick draw from a new holster shot himself in the right thigh in a waiting room at Eastlake Juvenile Court, authorities said. Deputy Christopher Haymond, 27, who has been with the department for four years, was in good condition at County-USC Medical Center. “He was showing off his new holster and got himself in the way,” Deputy Steve Lee said.
