Garbage Fees Increased:The cost of garbage pickup will increase for both residents and businesses following unanimous approval of new rates by the City Council on Tuesday. Monthly rates were increased from $4.70 to $5.15 per home, from $4.40 to $4.82 per apartment unit and from $44.10 to $50.25 for the average business. In other business, the council heard a request to repeal the city’s ban on fortune telling. At their next meeting, council members will consider the request along with a proposal to levy a $300 fortune telling fee.
