Nugget Flight Delayed by Bomb Threat
The flight on which the Denver Nuggets were booked to Los Angeles was delayed more than 3 1/2 hours Tuesday because of a bomb threat.
Continental Airlines spokesman Mike Preiser in Denver said someone telephoned the Denver police department while flight 317 was being boarded at Stapleton Airport and said there was a bomb aboard the plane.
Preiser said that after the police informed Continental, all passengers were cleared from the plane, which then was searched. Preiser said the luggage also was searched and the carry-on baggage scanned.
No bomb was found, Preiser said, and the plane was then reboarded.
According to Preiser, the caller did not say whether the bomb threat was directed against the Nuggets, who trail the Lakers 3-1 in the Western Conference championship series after losing twice on their home court.
“We have no way of knowing,” he said. “All we know for sure is that there was a bomb threat.”
