The Dun & Bradstreet Corp. survey also said that more than a third of the nation’s businesses expect to hire additional employees this year. The business information company said the smallest companies will do the most hiring in 1985, with concerns with fewer than 100 employees providing 53% of the new openings. The next largest group, mid-size companies with 100 to 499 workers, plans to hire an additional 3.4%, which would account for nearly a quarter of the total jobs expected, Dun & Bradstreet said. The smallest percentage gains will be among larger companies with 500 to 25,000 employees. Those companies expect employment levels to rise only 1.1% to 2.1%, contributing about 15% of the total gain.
