Carla Shugart, a senior at Blair High School in Pasadena, and Diane Wilson, a senior at Mountain View High School in South El Monte, were awarded four-year scholarships and summer employment throughout their college years at the Southern California Gas Co. by the gas company in El Monte.

Peter S. Gold, chairman of the board of Pfister Inc. of Pacoima, has been elected chairman of the Board of Trustees of Pitzer College in Claremont. Gold has been a member of the Pitzer board since 1977.

Erich Schneider-Wessling, an architect and professor in West Germany, has been awarded the Richard Neutra Award by the Cal Poly Pomona department of architecture. The award honors architects and educators who have made a lifetime effort to create good environments for people.

Diana Lockard, president of the Citrus College Board of Trustees, has been reelected to a two-year term on the California Community College Trustees Assn. Board of Directors.

Ralph Eastman, drama instructor at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, has been given a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities to study “Black Music in the United States: Aspects of History, Philosophy and Analysis” at Columbia College in Chicago.
