Man Gets 12 Years for Sex Abuse of Daughter

A 42-year-old Van Nuys man received a 12-year prison sentence Wednesday for sexually abusing his daughter, who was 10 years old when the abuse occurred in 1981. Frank A. Balcorta was convicted in Van Nuys Superior Court in April of seven counts of child molestation and two counts of sodomy.
Before the incidents, Balcorta, a practical nurse who was divorced from his wife at the time, took temporary custody of his daughter.
