Burning Pesticides’ Fumes Force 1,000 to Flee Homes

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. —
Fumes from burning pesticides forced evacuation of about 1,000 residents early Saturday after a fire, possibly caused by lightning, broke out at a Long Island farm supply company, police Officer Edward Weisinger said.
