Radio station KRLA was forced off the air temporarily by a small fire that knocked out power to the station’s broadcast center. The early morning fire in the basement of a 20-story office building at 3550 Wilshire Blvd. was extinguished by 14 Los Angeles City Fire Department companies, Fire Department spokesman Jim Wells said. The blaze was caused by a short circuit in an electric panel that controls the power for both the affected building and a second building at 3580 Wilshire Blvd., where KRLA is located.
