A former fashion model who killed five people while driving drunk on Interstate 5 two years ago was sentenced to five years and eight months in prison, the maximum term recommended under a plea bargain arranged last month. Phyllis Hall, 28, of Monrovia will be eligible for parole in about 16 months. Under manslaughter laws in effect at the time of the crash, Hall could not have been sentenced to a longer term. If she had committed the crime a few months later, when stiffer penalties went into effect, she could have been sentenced to as much as 16 years in prison.
