A tanker truck carrying 4,600 gallons of toxic sludge overturned on a Napa County curve, crushing a car and killing its unidentified driver. The California Highway Patrol said traffic on the Silverado Trail highway north of St. Helena had to be halted in both directions for nearly eight hours after the accident in which 30 gallons of the sludge containing mercury spilled.
