$4-Million Fire at Office Center
An early morning fire swept through a Calabasas industrial park this morning, gutting an office complex that housed 13 businesses and causing more than $4 million in damage, fire department officials said.
The fire, which broke out about 1:15 a.m. at the National Technical Systems building at 24007 Ventura Boulevard, apparently started at a video distribution center and quickly spread, fire department officials said. Thirty units from Los Angeles city and county fire departments contained the fire at 2:30 a.m. but at 8:30 a.m., the blaze erupted again for more than an hour.
