‘Sneaky Pay Raise’ in L.A.
It’s beyond me to understand city politics or city government, whichever you prefer to call it.
I’m referring to our council members and mayor giving themselves raises in their salaries. Are they really in dire need for more money and higher salaries?
When the mayor of Chicago took office, he lowered his salary $12,000.
Our mayor wanted the home owners to pay an extra tax to add more police protection to our citizens.
Social services are being discontinued because the city is crying it has no funds.
Thousands of homeless are wandering L.A. streets because the city cannot afford housing for them.
In spite of all this, our council members and mayor vote themselves raises.
I think we are the laughingstock of the world.
