Share

Residents who want to speak out on the city’s proposed 1985-86 $29-million budget probably will get their last chance to do so today.

Council members are expected to adopt the budget along with the redevelopment agency’s $25-million budget during the meeting, City Clerk Donna Rhine said.

The budget includes $18.4 million for capital improvements, with almost $13.9 million targeted for the redevelopment area known as Old Brea.

Next year’s budget calls for additional police and fire personnel, street improvements throughout the city and the completion of the Brea Civic Culture Center.

The special meeting begins at 1 p.m. in the executive conference room of the Cultural Center, No. 1 Civic Center Circle.
