The Pasadena Paramedic Assn. has asked the Board of City Directors to merge paramedic services with the Fire Department to avoid the paramedics’ elimination under a series of recommended budget cuts. Merging the two departments is one of several compromises presented to directors, who are considering a series of social service cuts that includes the paramedic department. Combining the departments would save the city an estimated $250,000.
