WW I Vets Group Will Give Artifacts to Downey Museum
DOWNEY —
Disbanding because of declining membership, the Veterans of World War I’s Downey Barracks 2348 will donate the group’s artifacts to the Downey Historical Society, 12540 Rives Ave., in a ceremony at 1 p.m. Wednesday. According to Commander Warren Purdy, there are only seven soldiers from World War I remaining in the 25-year-old veterans organization.
