Damage from Thursday’s three-alarm fire at a Foremost Dairy warehouse was set at more than $1 million Friday--nearly double the amount officials originally estimated.
Foremost recently sold the building, at 8th Avenue and K Street, and was moving its operations out.
The fire, sparked by a construction worker’s cutting torch, quickly spread through the warehouse, which was slated for redevelopment. No employees were injured, but one San Diego firefighter suffered second-degree burns on his hand.
