Security Pacific Corp. announced that it has restructured its financial-services system operations.

The Los Angeles-based holding company, parent firm of Security Pacific National Bank, said it has set up a consumer services group, a commercial real estate and mortgage banking group, and a commercial finance and leasing group, all of which will report to Vice Chairman William Ford.

Executive Vice President Sid Ipaktchian will head the consumer services group, Executive Vice President John Hancock will be in charge of the commerical real estate group and Executive Vice President Nick Binkley is heading the commercial finance group, Security Pacific said.

“There are no promotions or demotions here,” a bank spokesman said. “It’s a matter of taking common businesses that have been operating independently and placing them under one roof.”

Security Pacific President George F. Moody said the “new groups will be able to increase profitability by organizing around common markets, common products and services, and common delivery systems.”

David Sachs has been named first vice president in charge of the corporate investment group at Columbia Savings & Loan Assn., Beverly Hills.

Ed Walsh has been named executive vice president of Magnum Entertainment, West Los Angeles, a videocassette producer and supplier.

Daniel E. Armel has been named a partner in the Los Angeles office of the accounting firm Coopers & Lybrand.

Julian Myers has been promoted to executive vice president-worldwide motion picture and television publicity and marketing for Hanson & Schwam Public Relations, Los Angeles.

Edward J. McGuire was named vice president-corporate services loan administration for Los Angeles-based First Interstate Bank Ltd.
