Airport Waiting

I can sympathize with Rocco Armeni about airports. My husband and I decided we wanted to go to Greece and Turkey for our 50th anniversary, via TWA. Our plane left LAX half an hour late, so by the time we got to JFK airport our plane to Athens had left at 7:10 p.m. instead of 7:45 p.m. because of air controllers strike in Athens. TWA finally after four hours’ wait sent us to Frankfurt, Germany, to stay overnight and leave at 9 a.m. next morning for Athens. We finally left at 1:30 p.m., got to Athens airport at 5 p.m., nobody to meet us and no luggage.

After two hours, finally took taxi to hotel and there was our luggage we had sent from L.A. to Athens. The Athens airport personnel would not call the hotel, said luggage would have to go through customs, so would call LAX, JFK and Frankfurt airport to find our luggage. So we lost two days of our trip to waiting in airports.
