A 30-year-old Escondido man died at Palomar Hospital Saturday from gunshot and stab wounds he suffered during a fight, a deputy coroner said.

Lawrence Werner was found by police lying in a pool of blood in the living room of an apartment in the 1500 block of Tanglewood Lane.

Witnesses told police of a fight between the victim and an unidentified man who reportedly entered the apartment about midnight Friday. Police are looking for the suspect.
