Dunleavy Is Suing Airline for $10 Million
Former Milwaukee Bucks guard Mike Dunleavy has filed suit against American Airlines seeking $10 million in damages for injuries suffered in an accident that he claims ended his playing career.
The suit, filed in Milwaukee County Circuit Court, alleges Dunleavy injured his back Dec. 1, 1984 when members of the NBA team arrived at Baltimore International Airport on an American Airlines flight.
The plane stopped suddenly to avoid a fuel truck parked near the gate where the plane was heading, the suit said.
Dunleavy suffered a herniated disc in his spine, which caused pain in his back, right leg and foot.
The suit claims the flight crew was negligent in approaching the gate when the truck was parked there.
