An eight-minute blaze caused an estimated $100,000 damage Tuesday morning to a commercial building in the 1900 block of Adams Avenue, the San Diego Fire Department reported.
Firefighters arriving at the building after receiving a 4:39 a.m. call found the back of the structure engulfed in flames. The fire was extinguished in eight minutes, firefighters said. The building housed construction and architectural offices.
Sgt. Frank Barone, with the San Diego Fire Department’s Metro Arson Strike Team, said the building is owned by Frank Phillips. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, he said.
