Linebacker Bob Nelson, who is still unsigned, left the Raiders’ camp Saturday.

Nelson had attended meetings the day before, but departed. He is thought to be staying in Los Angeles.

“He probably just felt it was a little awkward under the circumstances,” Raider Coach Tom Flores said.

Flores also suggested that a final agreement was near on Marcus Allen’s renegotiation.

“I don’t know if he’s signed it yet, but . . . “ Flores said. “He’s not going to be leaving camp.”

Raider Notes Malcolm Barnwell twisted an ankle and Bill Pickel suffered a twisted back during Saturday’s drills, but neither injury is thought to be serious. . . . Tom Flores on the switch of Don Mosebar from guard to center: “It’s too early to tell, but to this point, he’s doing well. I think he’s only going to get better.” . . . The Raiders are concerned about finding a back-up for tight end Todd Christensen, and are intrigued by Trey Junkin, a free agent linebacker whom they’ve switched there. Flores: “He’s kind of excited us with his possibilities there. He’s very quick.” . . . And Flores on the new squad limit of 45, down from 49: “I don’t know where it would hurt us except special teams. It puts a burden on the players who’ll have to play on the special teams in addition to their other work. It almost eliminates the total special teams player.”
