SEOUL, South Korea —
An excursion boat carrying 36 people capsized in rough seas off Korea’s southwestern coast, and 11 people drowned and seven were missing, police and news reports said.
The accident occurred Saturday off the scenic Hong-do island, about 88 miles west of Mokpo on the southwestern tip of the peninsula, when the 27-ton Shinan-ho developed engine trouble and drifted into an undersea rock, police reported.
