French Steel Output Down

PARIS —
France produced 1.7 million metric tons of steel in May, down 0.2% from April and down 0.6% from a year earlier, an industry group reported. The French steelmakers’ association said that for the first five months of 1985, steel output totaled 8.9 million metric tons, up 0.1% from the corresponding year-earlier period.
