A woman roller skater injured two San Diego police officers who were attempting to cite her for a traffic violation Monday by using her skate-clad feet to issue karate-like blows to the ticketing officers, police said.

Officer Bob Cook suffered a fractured nose and police trainee David Stafford suffered a possible concussion in the attack. Both officers were treated at Villa View Hospital and released.

The two officers were approaching Toni Cusimano, 24, who was skating near 45th Street and Meade Avenue when the alleged attack occurred. The officers planned to issue Cusimano a ticket for causing a traffic hazard, a police spokesman said.

Cusimano was charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and is being held at the County Jail at Las Colinas.
