Prices farmers get for raw products dropped 0.8%.
July’s decline was the fifth consecutive decline in the monthly indicator and 12% below a year ago, the Agriculture Department reported. According to department records, the decline put the index at its lowest average in 2 1/2 years. The index had held steady in January and February before declining the last five months.
