The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has agreed to spend $210,000 on repairs to Colima Road between Danbrook and Poulter streets in south Whittier. The board voted unanimously to award the road repair contract to Copp Contracting Inc. of Whittier. Work to resurface, widen the existing roadway, rebuild curbs, gutters and sidewalks and driveway aprons will begin by mid-August and should be completed by the end of October. Police recommend motorists use alternate routes through the area during construction on Colima Road. At times, the road’s four lanes will be reduced to two.
