A suspect in the fatal shooting of a Clairemont man surrendered Thursday to homicide detectives.

Randy Lee Miller, 24, was taken into custody about 9:45 a.m. at the North Park Recreation Center, 4044 Idaho St. Police had been searching for Miller since the slaying Wednesday night of Keith Allen Rabold, 39, with whom Miller had been staying.

Rabold was shot inside his home in the 8500 block of Dubonnet Street. He collapsed after staggering into the front yard, where police discovered his body.

Witnesses told police they had seen a man who resembled Miller fleeing the house after the shooting. He reportedly had been staying with the Rabold family for six weeks.
