Local News in Brief : Gas Blast Damages House in Burbank
An explosion caused by a leak in a Southern California Gas Co. service line did $50,000 in damage to a house in Burbank Thursday morning, a Burbank Fire Department spokesman said.
Two residents of the house, in the 1000 block of Naomi Street, were at home when the 8:45 blast occurred but were not injured, spokesman Mike Davis said.
The cause of the leak, which was sealed by the Fire Department and utility workers by noon, is being investigated by the gas company. No other homes were endangered, Davis said.
