An immediate injunction sought by Walt Disney Productions to prevent a rival firm from producing new versions of “Pinocchio,” “Alice in Wonderland” and “The Jungle Book” was denied by U.S. District Judge Alicemarie H. Stotler, who said the question of copyright infringement will have to be settled by trial. Disney lawyers had claimed that animated characters developed by Filmation Associates for its proposed new versions of the children’s classics too closely resembled the characters drawn for the Disney versions.
