After meeting with her attorney Friday, Mary Alice Hill has not decided her next course of action.

“I’m still doing research and going over tactical situations,” said J. Stacey Sullivan, the attorney who was retained by Hill Wednesday night. “There are no conclusions at this point.”

Hill was relieved as San Diego State athletic director Thursday, and reassigned as President Thomas Day’s assistant through Nov. 8. At that point, her contract with the university will be terminated.

Hill has a number of options:

--She has 30 days in which to apply to the university for reconsideration of its decision. However, Sullivan said “that did not seem to be a very fruitful endeavor” because ultimately, the decision for reconsideration goes back to the president. But he added that after reading through more documents Thursday night and Friday, things could be presented “in a different light. My pride is not to the point where I wouldn’t go back in. That’s up to Mary. But I want to be sure that I’m on solid ground.”

--She can initiate litigatation, although Sullivan said he is not sure whether Hill has to go through reconsideration before taking that step. While mulling those options, Sullivan said Hill will not report to her reassigned position Monday morning.

“The ball is in their court,” Sullivan said. “The president said he would let us know what he had in mind in terms of duties for her.”

Sullivan, however, said he was unable to reach Day on Friday.
