Top Officers at Rogers & Cowan Switch Titles

While the company name will stay the same, the men behind Rogers & Cowan--the entertainment industry’s largest public relations agency--switched titles Tuesday.

Warren Cowan, formerly president, has become chairman of the board, and Henry C. Rogers, the former chairman, has been elected president by the agency’s new board of directors.

Paul Block, executive vice president of Rogers & Cowan, said Cowan will run the entertainment side of the business as well as acquisitions and mergers.

Rogers, meanwhile, will head the day-to-day management team that includes Block and Richard Taylor, president of the firm’s corporate division.

Cowan, in a prepared statement, said the restructuring “is a most exciting step forward for our agency and is well timed due to the growth and expansion we are enjoying in all divisions of our business.”

Dale Olson, who announced his resignation Monday as president of the movie division of Rogers & Cowan, said the management restructuring played no part in his decision.

Olson said he decided to leave because the agency is moving toward more corporate activity and he wants to be more involved in entertainment.

Block said a replacement for Olson will be named by the end of the week.
