For Better Living Has Net Income of $360,000
For Better Living Inc. reported net income of $360,000 for the quarter ended June 29, a 102% increase from $178,000 for the same period a year earlier. Revenues for the quarter were $12.5 million, up 39% from $8.9 million.
The San Juan Capistrano firm said net income for the first six months was $455,000, a decrease of 48% from $871,000 during the first half of 1984. Revenues for the six months were $22.4 million, up 30% from $17.2 million during the same period a year earlier.
F.G. Fabian, chairman and president of the company, said in a prepared statement that 1984 half-year results included an operating loss of $798,000 and a loss of $11,000 from discontinued operations, offset by a $2.4 million gain on the sale of real estate. Net income for the second quarter of 1985 included a $12,000 gain from discontinued operations.
For Better Living is a diversified company with interests in concrete and plastics and oil and gas exploration.
