The site of Sierra Continuation High School has been sold to Pacific Scene Inc., a Diamond Bar company that intends to build 124 apartments for senior citizens. Azusa Unified School District business manager Frank A. Lopes called the land “an eyesore” that is occupied by a few portable classrooms. The continuation school will be moved to another campus and the $810,000 sale price will be used to install air conditioning in school buildings throughout the district, Lopes said. The site, bounded by 4th and 5th streets and Pasadena and Soldano avenues, is three blocks from the Azusa civic center, where the city plans to build a new senior citizen center.
