Bonita
A man who walked onto unlighted Bonita Road in Bonita was killed when he was hit by two vehicles Tuesday night, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
The San Diego County coroner’s office identified the man as Ernest V. Fritz, 57, and said he was physically handicapped and appeared to have no permanent address.
The spokesman said Fritz stepped into the eastbound lane of Bonita Road west of Palm Drive about 10:45 p.m. He was struck by an eastbound pickup truck and thrown into the westbound lane, where he was struck by a car.
The drivers were not charged.
