Milton Greene; Captured Film Stars in Photographs
A funeral service for Milton Greene, whose photographs of Marilyn Monroe and other glamorous film stars helped provide the impetus for Norman Mailer’s book “Of Women and Their Elegance,” will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Trident Courtside in West Los Angeles.
Greene was 63 when he died of cancer Aug. 8 in a Los Angeles hospital.
He was a photographer for Look and Life magazines who later had his own commercial photography business in New York, where he also produced some television specials. He moved to California a few years ago and became involved in videotape productions and commercials.
Survivors include his sons, Joshua and Anthony, and a sister, Henrietta Dundes.
