Thomas Wilck Associates, a new public relations firm founded by former Irvine Co. vice president Tom Wilck, has announced the hiring of six prominent Orange County business and communications consultants.

The six are: R. W. “Bob” Clifford, former president of AirCal, who becomes executive vice president of the public relations firm; Barbara Taylor, a former real estate writer for several Southern California newspapers, who becomes editorial director of the company; John Gregory, a former newspaper business reporter and public relations executive; Judy Johnson, a member of the White House communications staff in the Nixon Administration and a former political campaign consultant; Lucy Cabot-Smethurst, a former official in the U.S. Interior Department and Energy Department; and Joan Brick Murphine, a former vice president of Gloria Zigner Assoc., another Orange County public relations firm.

Additionally, Valerie Salata joins the firm after serving with the Newport Harbor Area Chamber of Commerce and with Gentry Magazine.
