200 Anti-Gang Billboards
Mayor Tom Bradley announced plans Monday to erect 200 billboards aimed at discouraging youths in South-Central Los Angeles from joining gangs.
The billboards, which show three youths behind bars, bear the slogan, “Don’t Hang With the Gang.” They were donated by Foster and Kleiser, a local billboard advertising firm, with additional financing from Pacific Bell.
Bradley made the announcement along with representatives of the local chapter of the National Assn. for the Advancement of Colored People.
