The general manager of Oakland’s ailing AC Transit, L. A. Kimball, has been fired from his $77,928-a-year post and replaced by veteran staff financial expert Nathaniel Gage. A statement from the bus company’s directors said Kimball was not a “team player” and accused him of not keeping the board informed of problems. Kimball, 56, had no immediate comment.
